All Sponsors, RiderCoaches and Instructors,
The Texas DPS Motorcycle Operator Training Program was established in 1983. We would like to announce our plans to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of our program and unit with a special event.
We have partnered with the City of Bastrop for the use of the new BastropConvention Center for a one day event scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013. This event will include a brief Sponsor update as required by contract for reimbursement. A one-hour RiderCoach Professional Development Workshop will also be presented for those wanting to attend.
The main focus of the event is to meet, greet and network with other motorcycle industry participates and have a fun day of celebrating the anniversary. We would like to invite multiple vendors who can set up at no cost. We ask your help to extend this invitation to your area motorcycle related businesses.
Lunch will be on your own unless a provider develops and there are many good places to eat in and around the Bastrop area. For your convenience, a hotel list will be posted on our web site in a few days. There are popular, scenic motorcycle rides in the area. A planned ride has not been established at this time as we remain in the early planning stages of the event.
Additionally, we would like to present service awards to those Sponsors and RiderCoaches with 10, 20, 25 and 30 years of service with the program. Soon we will be asking you to self report your full name and initial training date for RiderCoaches and or first contract date for Sponsors so we can prepare your certificate of service acknowledgement.
As you know the DPS-MSU is small in numbers so we solicit your help, comments and ideas for making this a safe and enjoyable celebration. Our point of contact is Terry Graham at 512-424-7803 or [email protected]
Sincerely,
John G. Young, Program Director
